Supports the 4th Point of SDG, Pertamina Ensures to hold Roadshow to Improve Disabled’s Skills Throughout Indonesia

Jakarta, June 1, 2021 – Pertamina will conduct a roadshow to improve the skills of the disabled all over Indonesia through skills and soft skills training as well as various assistance. This skills and competency improvement training began in Bandung, West Java, and continued with roadshows to various cities in Indonesia.

Soft skill improvement for the disabled in Bandung was held at BRSPDSN Wyata Guna Building, on Saturday, May 29, 2021. Special Staff of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Angkie Yudistia, was present on this occasion. Angkie, who is also a person with disability, provided training for the disabled at the event. She said that people with disabilities also have abilities that are no less than ordinary people.

“I see a lot of potential and abilities possessed by friends with disabilities. Therefore, my visit to several regions wants to ensure that the head of the district to make a program to reach out the disabled,” said Angkie.

She also appreciates Pertamina’s move for this empowerment program so that the disabled could be more independent economically.

“Pertamina has a program to empower friends with disabilities so they can be more independent economically. They teach good skills and do mental health workshops as well. I hope these friends have the optimism and are not inferior to the non-disabled people so they can compete in the business world,” stated Angkie.

Acting Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications & Investor Relations of PT Pertamina (Persero), Fajriyah said that Pertamina will do a roadshow with Angkie to several cities in Indonesia with the same program so that friends with disabilities in Indonesia can be enthusiastic, stand up, and be independent for their financial.

According to Fajriyah, this is Pertamina’s commitment to corporate social responsibility on Pertamina Smart and Independent pillar, that is in line with ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) as an effort to support the realization of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Indonesia. This support, particularly on the 4th point, is to ensure inclusive and quality education, as well as learning opportunities for all, and on the 8th point that is to support inclusive and sustainable economic growth as well as decent work for all.

“This empowerment of the disabled program has been carried out by Pertamina Marketing West Java Region and in collaboration with the local government in order to support the sustainable development goals,” said Fajriyah.

The assistant of the Government and People’s Welfare (Arpemkesra) for the Regional Secretary of Bandung Regency, Ruli Hadiana, said that this program strengthened the relationship between the central and regional governments with Pertamina in order to realize the same understanding and high commitment for the implementation of protection and fulfillment of the disabled rights.

“This activity makes the local government increase high awareness of the needs and rights of the disabilities,” he said.

In addition to soft skills training for the disabled, Pertamina also provides help for the disabled that is mental health workshop and 10.000 masks. This help is symbolically received by the Head of the Social Rehabilitation Center for People with Neutral Sensory Disabilities, Wyata Ghuna Sudarsono.**
