Jakarta, May 24, 2024 - PT Pertamina Energy Terminal (PET), a subsidiary of the Integrated Marine Logistics Sub-Holding PT Pertamina International Shipping, successfully achieved the 2023 PROPER Green award from the Indonesian Ministry of Environment and Forestry.
It was by one of the terminals managed by PET, the Tanjung Sekong LPG Terminal, which is the backbone to meet the national LPG needs. The Tanjung Sekong LPG Terminal achieved the PROPER Green award through its CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) programs implemented in the company's operational area and its pioneering role as a Green Terminal using a Solar Power Plant (PLTS) and possessing a Renewable Energy Certificate.
One of the CSR programs that received appreciation and became a highlight at PET is its contribution to Rhino Conservation in Ujung Kulon National Park.
"This achievement reflects the team's dedication to implementing sustainable practices and continuously improving our environmental performance. We believe in our commitment to sustainability that benefits the environment and enhances the well-being of the community and stakeholders," said the Director of PET Bayu Prostiyono.
On another occasion, the Vice President of Corporate Communication of PT Pertamina (Persero), Fadjar Djoko Santoso, stated that as an SOE, Pertamina supports ESG programs by developing various CSR activities needed by the community and environment around its operational areas.
"Pertamina not only pursues business aspects but also cares about the surrounding environment in line with our vision of becoming a sustainable company," emphasized Fadjar.
This PROPER Green award is concrete proof of PET's commitment to realizing a more environmentally friendly business, following the principles of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG).
Bayu hopes that the PROPER Green Award achievement by the Tanjung Sekong LPG Terminal will inspire other strategic terminals managed by PET to participate in realizing more environmentally friendly business practices and achieving PROPER.
As is known, the Tanjung Sekong LPG Terminal, which supplies 40% of the national LPG needs in Indonesia, is also one of the leading energy terminals in utilizing new and renewable energy, with the presence of a PLTS as one of the power sources at the terminal.
