Through EFK, Elnusa Records HSSE Zero Accident Performance in Supporting Work at PLTBg Pagar Merbau and Kwala Sawit

Jakarta, March 25, 2022 – PT Elnusa Tbk (Elnusa), through its subsidiary, PT Elnusa Fabrication Construction (EFK), supports the Operation & Maintenance (OM) of Biogas Power Plants (PLTBg) in Pagar Merbau and Kwala Sawit – North Sumatera. The OM service that EFK runs has been carried out since July 2020. Currently, it is working with zero accidents or no work accidents.

The scope of work carried out by OM is to prepare labor, work tools, some spare parts, and transportation and mobilization. The EFK Team operates in a high-risk environment, with a liquid waste manufacturing process that produces gas, including H2S products and methane gas for fuel. EFK garnered appreciation from PT Pertamina Power Indonesia's clients for its potential and management capabilities for the electrical supply produced by PLTBg.

With high risk, EFK prioritizes Top Risk Assessment in this PLTBg project. Various efforts were made to remind workers through the HSSE Golden Rules campaign, namely compliance, intervention, care, and 15 HSE Life Saving Rules, as well as prioritizing the covid-19 protocol. Besides that, it also makes AKHLAK Values a culture at work.

Finance Director of Elnusa, Bachtiar Soeria Atmadja, in the Management Walkthrough (MWT) activity on (25/02/2022), explained the importance of implementing the HSSE Golden Rules (Compliance, Intervention, Care) and 15 Life Saving Rules in the field. “Currently, workers must also apply strict procedures and always mitigate hazards such as fires by implementing the HSSE plan and HSSE standards. This needs to be checked for prevention and treatment. Now is the time to increase awareness and training for workers," explained Bachtiar.

The realization of the HSE Program, which requires workers to get the Phase 1 and Phase 2 vaccinations, has now reached 100%. Various potential hazard mitigations have been carried out according to the SOP and regular checks with a checklist.

Director of Operations of EFK, Dani Zaenal Mutaqin, said that we made various inputs from management at MWT as room for improvement for EFK. Through this project, EFK has joined in supporting environmentally friendly renewable energy. “The proof that EFK has managed this project well, is that not many companies can manage this. EFK has succeeded in reviving the operation of this PLTBg. Indeed, trust and challenges are the keys to this achievement," said Dani.

With the support from Elnusa's management, in the future, EFK will try to develop this as alternative energy to answer challenges and try to become the pride of Indonesia.
