Through Go Global Coaching, Pertamina Accompany Fostered MSEs to Exports Products Around the World

Jakarta, June 5, 2021 - PT Pertamina (Persero), through the MSE Funding Program, has fostered more than 65,000 small businesses throughout Indonesia. Many MSEs have succeeded in marketing their products to foreign countries. With intensive coaching, Pertamina is committed to helping foster partners become Go Global MSE.

Acting Senior Vice President Corporate Communications & Investor Relations of Pertamina, Fajriyah Usman explained, in 2020, 78 fostered partners became Go Global MSEs. They were declared to upgrade from the UMKM Academy event held at the end of 2020. "There were 61 upgraded partners from global MSEs with 17 partners who export independently," she said.

The MSEs classified in the Go Global class have previously received briefing and guidance from the Indonesia Diaspora SME-SMI Export Empowerment & Development (ID-SEED). It is an organization run by the Indonesian diaspora in various countries that helps Pertamina's MSME Partners advertise their products globally.

This guidance is manifested in incubation and education programs related to the introduction of MSE exports. Including identification and adaptation of export products, making export business plans, and insight into the world market. All of them are summarized and provided by professionals so that the supported partners may understand them.

As a result, the fostered partners who have already or are about to export can also know the correct procedure in selling their products abroad. In addition, the provision provided is about increasing standardization in terms of products, packaging, labeling, and certification aspects (global standardization).

The majority of those in the Go Global category have exported to different nations throughout the world. One of them is Abdul Ghofur. The business owner of Duta Craftindo has exported products in the form of sculptures and wood installations to various countries in the world, such as Europe, America, and some states in Australia.

There is also Intan Anastasia Amsyah. Hitara Black Garlic business owner also contributes to the name of Indonesia by producing black garlic with domestic garlic ingredients. "Hitara mostly conducts promotions and sales through international exhibitions, such as Myanmar, Laos, Brunei Darussalam, and Malaysia. Sales have reached countries in Asia, Europe, and Australia," she said.

According to Fajriyah, through the MSE Funding Program, Pertamina wants to provide energy that can drive the economy--energy that becomes fuels and energy that produces sustainable growth.

Pertamina also supports SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) achievement through implementing ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance)-based programs in all of its operational areas. It is part of the environmental and social responsibility to realize economic benefits for the community.**
