Through RAFI 2023 Task Force, Pertamina Ready to Serve Homecoming Travelers

Jakarta, April 13, 2023 - As a national energy company with an integrated business, Pertamina ensures that all company lines from upstream, processing, and transportation to downstream, such as marketing and distribution, are ready to serve the community's energy needs throughout the Ramadhan and Idul Fitri Task Force (RAFI) 2023.

Referring to data released by the Government, travelers are predicted to reach 123.8 million people with various modes of transportation. Based on this data, Pertamina plans and provides fuel supplies.

In a Hearing Meeting (RDP) with Commission VI of the DPR RI, the President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero), Nicke Widyawati, explained a trend of increasing energy demand compared to previous years. In 2020-2021, there were fewer travelers because of the COVID-19 pandemic, and it started to increase from 2022 until this year.

“We carry out various things. What was good in 2022 will continue, and there will also be strengthening in 2023," said Nicke.

According to Nicke, during the 2023 RAFI Task Force, Pertamina ensured and closely monitored 3 (three) areas. Namely, tourist sites covered 11 areas, 9 main homecoming routes and logistics, and 17 disaster-prone areas.

"For these three locations, we plan three schemes. The first is regular supply, which is under normal conditions. Second, when a disaster occurs, we will use an alternative scheme. Third, Pertamina is also preparing an emergency scheme," she said.

Apart from that, based on the Pertamina Integrated Enterprise Data Command Center (PIEDCC) database, Nicke said that Pertamina will then carry out more detailed planning, which will not only stock per region but until the petrol stations.

She further explained that based on data from the Ministry of Transportation and PIEDCC, Pertamina projects that there will be an increase in demand for LPG by 3%, Gasoline by 10.3%, and Avtur by 7.35. The Gasoil fuel type is estimated to decrease by 8.7% from normal conditions.

"We do all this in alignment with refineries, ships, and upstream. Thus, this demand increase should not be filled by imports, but from domestic refineries and production," added Nicke.

For this reason, Pertamina has prepared additional supplies for almost all types of products except Gasoil, which will be maintained under normal conditions, especially anticipating the peak period, which is predicted to occur on April 1 - May 9, 2023. According to Nicke, anticipation is also carried out by preparing additional facilities, which have increased compared to 2022, such as Standby petrol station, which serves 24 hours from 1370 petrol stations to 1505 gas stations, and Standby LPG Agents from 4,239 agents to 5,471 agents. Moreover, for areas with no petrol stations yet, Pertamina has installed an additional unit, namely the Pertamina Siaga Kiosk like Pertashop, which previously only in 37 points, now 44 points. If there is a traffic jam, Pertamina has provided Motorists, from 220 units doubled to 402 units. Orders can be made using digital facilities and Call Center 135. To prepare fuel supply reserves, Pertamina has also prepared Stand By Tank Cars, from 144 units, increased to 201 units.

"In addition, we are not only anticipating the fuel supply but also travelers' comfort with Rumah Pertamina Siaga at 20 points because of a long toll road," said Nicke.

From the processing side, Nicke said that Pertamina is also planning for refinery maintenance and it will be completed before Ramadan. All refineries are 100% ready to produce according to their capacity and can increase Gasoline and Avtur production.

"We are adjusting the products where Gasoline is added, Gasoil is slightly reduced and we are adding Avtur. Therefore, the addition to the RAFI Task Force can be fulfilled from domestic refineries," she said.

On the ship transportation side, Pertamina is trying to maintain starting from the ships' amount as needed, the ships' condition according to specifications, and arranging distribution schedules. The vessels provided to transport products are 297 units. To support the RAFI Task Force, Pertamina increased vessels transporting BBM, Avtur, and LPG by five units, making the total 302 units.

"Scheduling is monitored closely. Thus, there are no delays that could have an impact on a lack of supply," added Nicke.

From the upstream side, Pertamina has also alerted all facilities so there will be no decline considering that refineries need additional supplies. Therefore, the production and lifting of oil and gas are continuously monitored so that everything is realized. Based on the data, there has been an increase during the 2023 RAFI Task Force period, including 73 Drilling Rigs and 133 Well Intervention Rigs in operation.

"From the five upstream regions, we are closely monitoring, and there are targets for each region. We will ensure that this additional production comes from Pertamina Group's results," stated Nicke.**
