Through UMK Academy 2021, Pertamina Supports Small Business Onboarding

Jakarta, July 25, 2021 - After briefing Pertamina UMK Academy 2021 participants for the Go Online class, now it is the turn of participants from the Go Digital class. The MSE debriefing by PT Pertamina (Persero) through the MSE Funding Program was held virtually on Tuesday (13/7) and Wednesday (14/7). That way, the fostered partners can go onboarding and become upgraded MSEs.

Acting Senior Vice President Corporate Communications & Investor Relations of Pertamina, Fajriyah Usman, said similar to the briefing in other classes, the materials provided to UMK Academy 2021 participants include guidance on how to upgrade MSEs.

"The first briefing was about the basic ability to create accounts and social media as promotion and sales media. That way, MSEs can onboard or adapt information technology development and apply it to their business. Therefore it has an impact on increasing business productivity," explained Fajriyah.

The material is adjusted to the segmentation of the participants. The briefing of participants in this first session was to discuss 'Basic Finance and Competitive Cost of Goods Sold.' The purpose of calculating this cost is to determine the overall cost of production carried out in one period.

"This price will later become a benchmark for entrepreneurs in determining the selling price. From there, MSEs can set prices that are competitive with competitors, of course, without neglecting the calculation of the profit that will be obtained," she added.

In determining the cost of goods sold (HPP), MSEs also need to pay attention to several determining components. Such as beginning products inventory, ending products inventory, net purchases, labor, and factory overhead (costs excluding raw materials and labor). "After that, HPP can be calculated by adding, between net purchases, direct labor costs, and factory overhead," she explained.

One of the participants, owner of the Maryam Roti business in Balikpapan, Umy said, she was grateful to participate in this activity. Moreover, she became aware of tips and tricks in winning the hearts of consumers through the calculation of product prices. "Thank you Pertamina, this knowledge is useful and can be applied immediately," she said.

In addition, there is also Nunuk Nurhayati. The owner of the Akbar Medika Clinic in Mojokerto, who works in the health services industry, was also advised on how to turn her company into Go Digital MSE. "Although I have not been able to implement telemedicine as is widely used today, slowly I will pioneer so that the promotion of my clinic can be digital-based," she said.

According to Fajriyah, through the MSE Funding Program, Pertamina wants to provide energy that can move the economy--energy that fuels and energy that produce sustainable growth.

Pertamina also supports SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) achievements through implementing ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance)-based programs in all of its operational areas. It is part of the environmental and social responsibility to realize economic benefits in the community.**
