Jakarta, April 21, 2022 - PT Pertamina International Shipping (PIS) is ready to oversee and maintain a smooth fuel and LPG distribution through the month of Ramadan until Eid al-Fitr.
PIS has formed a task force fronted by no less than 50 Perwira and Pertiwi and has prepared hundreds of ships to ensure sufficient national energy availability.
"PIS is committed to maintaining the fuel supply security with sustainable operations. All PIS Perwira and Pertiwi are ready to carry out their duties throughout Ramadan until Eid al-Fitr. PIS also prioritize officer's security and safety who serve as task forces," Roberth MV Dumatubun, Corporate Secretary of PIS, said.
282 PIS vessels are operated to ensure a smooth domestic energy distribution. 199 vessels were used to distribute aviation fuel and fuel. Meanwhile, 83 other vessels are used for the distribution of LPG, crude oil, black oil, FSO crude, asphalt, and others.
PIS also ensures monitoring of Fuel and LPG distribution regularly. From monitoring all depots in terms of stock conditions, DOT, coverage days, and ship positions and conditions, and coordinating with all related parties to mitigate and anticipate if there is an increase in demand at a terminal.
In terms of ship readiness, monitoring is carried out digitally with Enhance Daily Tanker Position (EDTP), an application and technology to detect the development of the situation and anticipate emergency conditions and other risks. Anticipating an increase in the need for stock security, PIS prepared additional vessels for the task force if necessary.
Coordination is also carried out centrally at the Pertamina Task Force Command Post and independently with relevant government agencies ranging from port officers to customs and other permits. Thus, ship operations remain smooth.**
