To Support Smooth 2022 Homecoming Flow, Pertamina Gas Subholding Distributes Gaslink in Rest Area Km 72A

Jakarta, April 29, 2022 - Subholding Gas Pertamina through its subsidiary PT Gagas Energi Indonesia ("Gagas") distributes Gaslink for Rest Area KM 72A Toll Purwakarta - Bandung - Padaleunyi (Purbaleunyi), Karawang Regency, West Java. It is an effort to support the smooth flow of Eid al-Fitr in 2022 and the growth of MSMEs in the area.

Gagas signed the natural gas distribution with PT Krida Bangun Persada in Rest Area KM 72A manager on Tuesday  (26/04/2022) at PGN Head Office. Gaslink distributed to Rest Area KM 72A is for the food court and central kitchen.

After the signing the PJBG, the gas-in activity will continue on Wednesday, April 27, 2022. Therefore, at the peak of the homecoming flow later, travelers will be able to feel the benefits of energy and natural gas in the rest area KM 72A.

Director of Sales and Operations, Faris Azis, stated that the gas distribution in KM 72A Rest Area increases the coverage of the natural gas market and shows that the utilization of infrastructure beyond the natural gas pipeline can be more widespread.

Rest Area 72A has a concept of an incubator for MSMEs to upgrade and expand their business in the long term. It is an opportunity for the Subholding Gas Group to support retail, MSMEs, and several future projects in the rest area.

"The use of natural gas in Rest Area 72A can also support the rest area into a green energy rest area align with Pertamina's energy transition commitment. In addition, it also supports the growth of MSMEs there. So this cooperation is not solely for the benefit of B2B, but there are other parties that are also growing," Faris said.

For the initial stage, it is estimated that gas distribution will reach 250 m3 – 4,500 m3 per month. Furthermore, aligned with the increasing demand for Rest Area KM 72A, gas distribution is estimated to reach 10,000 m3 per month.

The distribution will use Gaslink CNG with a capacity of 24 m per tube. In the future, if the use of the Rest Area increases, the distribution will be replaced using a regular Gaslink, which uses a Gaslink truck (Gas Transport Module/GTM) and a Pressure Reducing System ("PRS").

The gas distribution will source gas from the nearest SPBG owned by Gagas, namely SPBG Purwakarta, about 20 km from the location.

“The KM 72A rest area is the first rest area to use natural gas. In the future, we hope that there will be other rest areas to follow. Because it is not only more environmentally friendly, the use of Gaslink has also been proven to increase efficiency for its users," added the President Director of Gagas, Muhammad Hardiansyah.

In addition to distributing Gaslink to rest areas, to support the smooth running of Homecoming in 2022, Hardiansyah added that Gagas will also remain alert for the operation of Gas Fuel Filling Stations as usual.

"We will continue to operate and serve Gasku and Gaslink customers as usual. For Gasku customers, they can refill Gasku at the nearest SPBG or MRU from the customer's location. As for Gaslink customers, we will send gas to the customer's location according to the production process information at the customer," he explained.

Management representative of PT Krida Bangun Persada, Budi Haryono, as the manager of the KM 72A Rest Area, said that the decision to use Gaslink in the KM 72A Rest Area is their responsibility as rest area managers to provide cleaner, more reliable and efficient fuel for all tenants.

"We hope that this collaboration can become a role model and bring promising results to all tenants here. The presence of natural gas in RA 72A is our contribution not only for big entrepreneurs but also for MSMEs. Because it provides economic benefits," Budi said.

During the homecoming flow, it is estimated that the Purbaleunyi toll road will be passed by travelers heading to Bandung and its surroundings. The data form Ministry of Transportation stated that this year there will be an increase in the number of travelers by 40% compared to the number of travelers in 2019.

An increasing number of travelers will increase the number of visits to rest areas, including Rest Area KM 72A. For this reason, Gaslink is here to support tenant services in the KM 72A Rest Area to make it more optimal.**
