Jakarta, July 19, 2022 – Pertamina's Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) with the police moved quickly to carry out a series of security procedures and to remove the tanker from the scene at 23.30 WIB.
"During the process, spraying was carried out on the tank car as a cooling step to ensure safe conditions. Next, the head of the truck was replaced," explained Corporate Secretary of Pertamina Patra Niaga, Irto Ginting.
The two tanker crew members are safe and are currently at the Jatisampurna Police Station, Bekasi.
Pertamina also ensures that the fuel supply to fulfill the community needs is not disturbed.
"We will continue to oversee the victims' handling and the investigation process. We ask for your prayers so that the victim handling process and the scene handling can run well tonight," said Irto.
Pertamina Patra Niaga also took swift action in handling the victims and coordinating intensively with the victims’ families.
"The directors of Pertamina Patra Niaga immediately visited the victims’ families at the Police Hospital and conveyed their condolences," stated Irto.
