Jakarta, July 27, 2021 – The coaching of Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) by PT Pertamina (Persero) continues to show positive results. Through MSE Funding Program, Pertamina successfully assisted 65 fostered partners to be upgraded MSEs up to the second quarter of 2021. This amount will continue to increase along with the ongoing Pertamina UMK Academy 2021.
Acting Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications & Investor Relations of Pertamina, Fajriyah Usman said that the number of the upgraded MSEs is getting closer to the target of 106 fostered partners this year. “Until the second quarter, 61,43 percent of the target has been achieved. We are optimistic to exceed the target by the end of this year,” she said.
All MSEs, continued Fajriyah, were declared upgraded after fulfilling several criteria of upgraded MSEs. For instance, experiencing an increase in turnover, production capacity, number of workers, additional certification and business permits, marketing expansion, to involving the surrounding community or sociopreneur in the business ecosystem.
“The fostered partners who are declared to be upgraded can meet at least 2 out of 7 criteria of upgraded MSEs. The majority are able to experience an increase in turnover, as much as 33 MSEs, and additional certification or permits by the same amount,” she explained.
One of the fostered partners that are declared as an upgraded MSE is Ratna Indrawati. She is the owner of Ratna Artshop that produces a variety of ketak rattan crafts and experienced an increase in turnover compared to before being Pertamina’s fostered partner. “Before becoming Pertamina’s fostered partner, the turnover was around IDR 40 million per month. Currently, it can reach up to IDR 90 million every month,” said Ratna.
This cannot be separated from a number of assisting and coaching that are given to Ratna. Starting from assistance in running the business, publications through various media, to exhibition assistance facility at a business matching event with a potential buyer from China at the China – ASEAN Expo in Nanning, China, last 2019. Moreover, there is also Ico Ordiana. The owner of Gerai Amanah which produces a variety of processed fish branded with Iwa-Qu. Since becoming Pertamina’s fostered partner, Diana succeeded in being upgraded by getting a halal certificate and BPOM. “With this certificate, consumers no longer have to question the quality of our products, if anyone is interested they can access the social media @pempektekwan.amanahco,” she said.
Fajriyah continued, to pursue the target of upgraded MSEs this year, Pertamina will optimize the implementation of the UMK Academy that is ongoing until the end of 2021. Therefore, it is expected that the number of upgraded fostered partners can achieve the target or even exceed it.
According to Fajriyah, through the MSE Funding Program, Pertamina wants to provide energy that can move the economy. Energy that fuels and energy that produce sustainable growth.
