Balikpapan, February 27, 2024 — Pertamina is extending its support to improve social media enthusiasts’ competencies within the state-owned enterprises (SOE) by participating in the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises' program, namely the SOE Influencer Workshop.
The program, conducted in eight cities across Indonesia, was attended by SOE employees from various companies, particularly influencers or social media enthusiasts from the millennial and Generation Z cohorts. One of the series of programs was held in Balikpapan and attended by approximately 100 SOE millennials on Monday, February 26, 2024.
The SOE Influencer Workshop program is the Ministry of SOE’s proof of support for potential SOE individuals in creating and disseminating positive news. It also provides a platform for SOE individuals to innovate and create.
In this influencer workshop, SOE influencers received various training sessions, including storytelling by Bene Dion, social media inside out and content structure implementation by Tommy Teja and Ray from the Creative Agency Zhando, as well as materials from the Special Staff III of the Minister of SOE, Arya Sinulingga.
During this opportunity, Arya Sinulingga expressed that all SOE individuals are expected to become influencers who convey positive messages about their companies.
“SOE individuals should possess loyalty, a positive mindset towards the company, and narrative skills. As the world develops and more information is available, messages conveyed should be concise and precise," he said.
According to Arya, discussions about mindset are crucial because all SOE individuals are expected to have a clear vision, maintain the company's image, and foster the company’s loyalty culture.
"SOE individuals have a strong and real role as influencers on digital platforms like social media. They are considered inspirations and individuals who can positively impact and disseminate good news, especially about the company, to others," he added.
Opening the event as one of the organizing SOEs, Corporate Secretary of Pertamina, Brahmantya S. Poerwadi, expressed that this event is both intriguing and beneficial, especially as it takes place in Balikpapan, where several Pertamina Group business lines are located.
"Balikpapan is a small representation of Pertamina, where almost all of Pertamina's business activities are present. Let us pay attention to how this city thrives economically, because Pertamina is here. I hope influencers will also start addressing the energy transition from a millennial perspective," said Brahmantya.
Furthermore, Brahmantya emphasized that millennials and Gen-Z generations within SOEs are expected to be more active in promoting SOEs’ positive aspects of where they work. Pertamina fully supports this objective by facilitating this event in Balikpapan. The hope is that SOE individuals can further explore their potential as content creators to spread positivity, especially through social media.
"This event will be a platform to raise awareness on how each and fellow SOE employees can collaborate to provide positive information. Hopefully, everyone can reciprocate the good results and positive spirit to all employees in their respective companies," Brahmantya explained.
This event received appreciation from the participants, including Patih Rajahasta, a representative from Bio Farma. He expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of SOE and Pertamina for recognizing SOE individuals’ potential and the importance of adapting to the digital world, especially in social media.
"I am thrilled for this event. As an Influencer representative from Bio Farma, I learned a lot from the speakers. Later on, we will also visit Pertamina's facilities and create content about it. I cannot wait to see how the work process and HSSE implementation at Pertamina have been so far, and hopefully, we can create beneficial content. Thank you to the SOEs and Pertamina for supporting this event," he said.
Similar sentiments were conveyed by Rachmat Wahid Harahap, CFO of East Kalimantan’s Rumah BUMN and a Pertamina officer. He appreciated the event and hoped its outcomes could be utilized for content creation in his work.
"This event is excellent for me to learn as an influencer. Hopefully, everything learned can be applied to create content for the company's needs. It motivates me because I am tasked with Rumah BUMN to bridge Pertamina in helping MSMEs gain recognition to help them upgrade. The SOE Influencer Workshop is impressive. Thanks to the SOEs and Pertamina," he exclaimed.
Participants had the opportunity to undergo training by creating engaging and creative content at Pertamina's business facilities and CSR partner institutions. On the last day, participants engaged in fun run sessions, games, and entertainment. In addition to acquiring new knowledge, participants are encouraged to engage in activities that positively impact their mental and physical health. This way, SOE individuals can optimize the delivery of positive and good news, especially on social media.
