Cilacap, December 8, 2021 – Pertamina held various internal competitions to commemorate the 2021 energy month held in November.
Carrying the theme 'Save Energy & Reduce Loss for Cost Optimization', the function of Energy Conservation Loss Control (ECLC) Refinery Unit (RU) IV- PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional (KPI) Cilacap Unit as a committee held activities that focused on energy saving including Boiler & Furnace Optimization (BFO) accreditation.
The accreditation was held at the Patra Graha Building on Wednesday (2/12/2021) with 50 novice operators/young production function workers. This activity aims to determine the steps to improve boiler and furnace operating performance on an ongoing basis, both in safety, environment, reliability, and energy efficiency.
Cecep Supriyatna, Area Manager Communication, Relations & CSR at RU IV Cilacap-PT KPI said the upskilling and accreditation of BFO is in line with Pertamina's vision of becoming a world-class standard company, namely efforts to build an energy management system that is managed professionally and sustainably involving young workers.
In line with Cecep, Jaka Iwan Ismantoro Section Head ECLC RU IV Cilacap PT KPI stated, through this activity, it is hoped that refinery operators from the operating function can explore and understand correctly in operating Boiler and Furnace equipment safely and reliably. "Our activity was held for two days. Yesterday we gave the theory online, and today the interview stage or clarification of the upskilling results will be held later. There will be an assessment session," he said.
The assessment criteria, he added, include safe operations and optimization according to procedures. The hope, added Jaka, is that all participants can go through all the stages so that later they will be entitled to a graduation certificate. "Until now, more than 50% of participants have succeeded. If one does not meet the target, a remedial will be carried out to be upskilled again," he concluded.**
