Jakarta, January 26, 2022 – PT Pertamina's (Persero) fostered Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) continue to show positive developments and upgrades. It is felt by one of the MSEs fostered by the Rumah BUMN (RB) Klungkung Bali, Bali Taru Rahayu (BTR). They received a certificate of Intellectual Property Rights (HAKI) handed over directly by the Governor of Bali, Wayan Koster, Sunday (16/1).
The moment was also witnessed by the Minister of Law and Human Rights (Menkumham) of the Republic of Indonesia, Yasonna H. Laoly, along with several related officials. In his speech, Yasonna conveyed the significant role of intellectual property protection related to efforts in recognizing and appreciating the work produced by each person.
Meanwhile, Stephen David Wattimena, the owner of BTR, said he was happy to be one of the hundreds of Bali MSEs who received the certificate. Through the business of processing and selling fresh/frozen fruit and nuts into jams, as well as herbal teas, David is committed to making his business Go Global.
"Located in Denpasar, Bali, I can take advantage of this opportunity to introduce original Indonesian products to the world through tourists who come to Bali. Therefore, it is hoped that Bali is not only famous for its tourism but also a variety of unique and attractive culinary delights," he said.
Thanks to his tenacity, the dream began to come true. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, some products were successfully exported to France, Belgium, and the United States. With the help of 5 employees, David can generate a net turnover of around IDR 30 million per month.
With the addition of an intellectual property rights certificate for this business, he hopes that his products will be easier to enter retail and supermarkets until they resume exporting products. People wishing to try their products can view the catalog on social media @balitarurahayu and buy them at the Tokopedia Bali_Taru_Rahayu marketplace.
