Protecting Biodiversity
Pertamina shows the Company's deep concern for environmental conservation through the Pertamina Hijau Program. The Pertamina Hijau program includes several activities, namely the Biodiversity Program & Mangrove Planting Program.
The Biodiversity Program aims to preserve the wealth of endemic flora and fauna native in Indonesia, specially protected flora and fauna. In this program, Pertamina designed 317 biodiversity programs targeting more than 800.000 Fauna and 4.170.276 Flora throughout Indonesia.
Meanwhile, Pertamina's Mangrove Planting Program in the vicinity of Pertamina and its Subsidiaries' operational areas, considering that mangroves can provide significant benefits, including as a habitat for various marine animals and other animals, as a source of culinary and handicraft products as well as study and migration areas. In 2020, Pertamina planted 595,990 Mangrove seedlings.
