Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
As an Indonesian state company that play strategic roles, PT Pertamina (Perseroan) or PERTAMINA has been supporting the achievements of 2030 Agenda of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that serves as a global commitment to implementing sustainable development with respect to human rights and equality aspects. PERTAMINA has been implementing six goal priorities of the SDGs, they are, 12th Goal, Responsible Consumption and Production; 13th Goal, Climate Change; 14th Goal, Life below Water; 15th Goal, Life on Land; 7th Goal, Affordable and Clean Energy; and 8th Goal, Decent Work and Economic Growth.
As a national energy company, PERTAMINA is committed to providing energy while encouraging every stakeholder to involve in a responsible production and use of outputs to ensure the sustainable future. This effort supports implementation of 12th Goal of SDGs, namely a Responsible Consumption and Production.
In producing energy products, PERTAMINA has commitment to promoting efficiency in natural resources, waste management, and providing subsidy to target segments. PERTAMINA also actively develops its supply chain for its business and consumers, makes efforts to reduce waste and to promote product recycle. With these, PERTAMINA and its stakeholders are moving towards a more sustainable pattern of consumption by 2030.
PERTAMINA’s commitment to achieving 12th Goal of SDGs is also realized through various activities of corporate social responsibilities (CSR). The CSR activities represents the Company’s care in some aspects, namely education, health, environment, infrastructure, social empowerment, disaster management as well as special aids. Those CSR activities are conducted by all function units of PERTAMINA, at head office, operating units, as well as its subsidiaries.
In line with the sustainability principles, PERTAMINA has commitment to developing products and services not only for commercial purposes, but also with care for the environment (planet) and interests of the next generation (people). Such commitment is realized through many activities aimed at achieving the 13th Goal of SDGS, Climate Change; 14th Goal, Life Below Water; and 15th Goal, Life on Land.
In the meantime, PERTAMINA has already designed an affordable and clean energy program in many places in Indonesia. The clean energy use and management program has indeed brought positive impacts to health, education, communication, agriculture, household and people’s economy. PERTAMINA ensures that it will always provide access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for everyone. This effort represent its commitment to the implementation of 7th Goal of SDGs, Affordable and Clean Energy.
PERTAMINA supports and realizes the 8th Goal of SDGs, Decent Work and Economic Growth, through the implementation of Partnership Program. Through such program, the Company empowers every SME, as part of its support to the government’s effort to create labor market and equal job opportunity, in order to bring significant impacts to poverty reduction. This program also allows PERTAMINA to give continuous support to inclusive and sustainable economic growth and the creation of decent works for everyone.
