There was a fire at the Jakarta Integrated Terminal, Plumpang Jakarta on Friday (3/2/23) at 20.20 WIB, in the fuel receiving pipe from Balongan Refineries. With the cooperation of Pertamina Patra Niaga and assistance from various parties, the fire was extinguished at 22.43 WIB, and the emergency status was revoked on Saturday (4/3) at 03.35 WIB.
The President Director of Pertamina stated that Pertamina would provide the best treatment for the affected communities. Pertamina is concerned and apologizes for this incident and will conduct a thorough internal evaluation and reflection to prevent similar incidents from recurring.

Pertamina will continue to oversee the handling of victims and is committed to provide the best treatment for affected communities. Pertamina is also committed to take full responsibility for the victims. Pertamina Patra Niaga is intensely working hand in hand in collaboration with the authorities, local government, and the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) to carry out evacuations of residents and assistance for refugees. Pertamina has distributed aid to 4 evacuation points, around the area of the incident. Pertamina assisted in the form of food, sleep and medical needs, and health services. Pertamina will continue to assist according to the needs of residents. In collaboration with related officials, Pertamina will re-monitor the location to record residents' needs. After that, Pertamina will again distribute aid according to the needs of residents. Pertamina will also fully bear all the treatment of victims, both those in referral hospitals and those being treated at Pertamina-affiliated hospitals. Assistance will also be given to the deceased and their families.
The cause of the incident is still under investigation and coordination with the authorities. Pertamina formed a joint team with Pertamina Patra Niaga and related institutions to investigate the cause of the incident. Pertamina will carry out a thorough evaluation to prevent similar incidents from happening again.
The incident has a minimum impact on the overall business operation of Pertamina Subholding Commercial & Trading (PT Pertamina Patra Niaga). There is no significant damage to the storage tank which directly affects fuel loss. The facility has adequate insurance coverage, however, the amount that will be covered is still under assessment.
The distribution of fuel has been resumed since the early morning on Saturday (4/3). Pertamina ensures that fuel supplies remain safe by backing up supplies from the nearest terminals, namely Tanjung Gerem TBBM, Cikampek TBBM, and Ujung Berung TBBM. Fuel supplies were also secured through support from the Cilacap and Balongan refineries which were channeled by sea to Tanjung Priuk TBBM.
Jakarta Integrated Terminal (JIT) consists of 3 main terminals, which are located in the near by area. They are Plumpang Fuel Terminal, Tanjung Priok Fuel Terminal, and Tanjung Priok LPG Terminal. In overall, JIT has total fuel capacity of around 416,000 KL or 7.7% of total national storage capacity.
