Prevention of Major Incidents
We reinforce our daily activities thinking about safety of our employees and our operation. We have achieved industry-leading performance in preventing injuries from our respected stakeholders. Nevertheless our focus on safety works is an ongoing job.
Therefore, we prepare for risks seeking to improve our operations to mitigate their impact on the environment, on people’s health, and on the assests themselves and the communities we are operate. To prevent accidents, we comply with standards and adopt strict operating standards and procedures.
Pertamina use management systems and scenario planning to identify, understand and prevent or minimize the occurane of low probability, high impact accidents and emergencies with significant potential environmental and social externalities.
Pertamina has the following oil spill prevention and response procedures :
- The Guideliness for Oil Spill in Waters No. A-103/I00400/2009-S0
- Corporate Disaster Management Guideliness No.A-02/100200/2011-S0 2nd Revision
In addition to the Company’s guidelines/procedures, Pertamina prepares response equipment, teams, or personnel as well as conducts response excersises. The fulfilmen of Oil Spill response in offshore activities must go through the process to obtain approval of the Directorate General of Oil and Gas and Directorate General of Sea Transportation.
